Alex Tintinalli

Since releasing his debut blues album, Nothing To Lose, in 2007 at age 14, singer-songwriter, Indie recording artist, Alex Tintinalli has received local, national and international recognition including world-wide radio airplay in over 60 countries. In September 2009, Alex was the season winner in Nashville’s “15 Minutes of Fame Jr”, a local Cable TV youth talent competition for artists ages 9 to 17 who are actively pursuing their music career. With performances judged by Nashville’s music industry professionals, Alex was the judges’ unanimous pick and was awarded his own 30 minute TV special for top prize. Earlier that summer, Alex placed 3rd out of 67 writers in a local song-writer's competition among many veteran local songwriters. In June 2008, Alex was awarded the prestigious Kitchener-Waterloo Arts Award for his contribution to the arts in his local community and additionally that month had a feature interview in the May/June issue of the U.K.’s largest blues magazine Blues Matters. Then in July 2008 he was awarded CBC Galaxie's Rising Star Award at The Tremblant International Festival. Originally referred to as the young, "guitar whiz”, Alex Tintinalli has since grown to become a passionate vocalist and talented song-writer leveraging his arsenal of tastefully melodic guitar licks in a style of modern music all his own. Some of his musical influences include Ne-Yo, Wyclef, The Roots, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Bob Marley, SRV, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, Eminem and Dr. Dre. Since 2007, this talented teen has released two studio CDs, two live CDs (one most recently in January 2010) and a DVD. Aside from a busy career as a solo artist, he also founded an urban group “Pocket City” which bridges the soulful, energetic styles of funk, and old-school hip-hop (dubbed “funk-hop”) to create a vibe that’s fresh, dynamic and fun and expects to release Pocket City’s debut record in 2011. Some of the notable artists Alex has performed or shared stages with are: Justin Beiber, Tom Cochrane, The Yardbirds, the late Mel Brown and Jeff Healey, Ronnie Hawkins, Eric Burdon and The Animals, Los Lonely Boys, The Funk Brothers and Steve Earle at various festivals across Canada. Over the summer of 2009, Alex did some co-writing with prominent Nashville songwriter, James Breedwell and are seeking publishing opportunities for their songs. Alex is a versatile performer and is available for hire either as a solo, duo or trio acoustic or electric act for events requiring a range of soft rock, blues, soul and funky music. For urban music events, Pocket City is a full band with a funky hip-hop repertoire. Solo/Duo/Trio: sets include some original material mixed in with a range of cover songs which span the genres and decades from such artists as: John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Led Zeppelin, Sublime, James Brown, Gorillaz, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Eminem, Eric Clapton, Steve Miller, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Asher Roth, Bob Marley, Ben Harper, Edwin McCain, Stevie Wonder, John Lennon and Michael Jackson to name a few. Pocket City: sets include original Funk/ Hip-Hop songs with a mix of covers from various Hip-Hop/Rap, R&B and Funk groups. Performing over 100 shows each year Alex continues to deliver passion, soul and heart moving energy to his audiences and is fast becoming one of the hottest independent artists in his home province of Ontario, Canada.
