Aphrodite’s Bodice is an impressively solid and refreshingly energetic rock and roll band. With roots in the powerful blues tradition and a deep appreciation for the art of songwriting, the six core members of the band are committed to the creation and performance of honest and emotional music - a vision that they have gained critical respect for in the past. Aphrodite’s Bodice has been privileged to play in support of such revered Canadian musicians as Lennie Gallant, Gordie Sampson, Chic Gamine, Garnet Rogers, and Steve Strongman; experiences they have taken to heart in the writing of their own original songs.
In the summer of 2010 the band began a new musical journey with the recording of their second full length album - In Sweet Time. The album boasts ten new original songs, two of which feature award winning blues guitarist Steve Strongman as special guest lead guitarist.
The band will be playing a number of concerts in 2011 to promote their new album’s release including a Toronto show at C'est What (Saturday March 12th), and a hometown show in Waterloo at Maxwell's Music House (Friday March 18th), both featuring The Long Haul as the opening band. As if this wasn't enough, the members of Aphrodite's Bodice have already been tirelessly working on new material before they hit the studio once more this year.
